Drugs Are Bad, MMM'Kay?

This is a new song that I wrote. It's about how love is an addiction, and one that, no matter how hard we try, we can't break. I'm working on the music now but here's the lyrics.

Drugs Are Bad, MMM’Kay?

I sweat, I shiver, I shake
As I slowly come to you
The second I see you I smooth
Oh, babe, if only you knew

Cause hey, babe, you’re my vicodin
Yeah, love, you’re my oxycontin
And, sweet, around you I can’t hide
Cause hey, dear, you’re my cyanide

You may not be my Romeo, sweet,
But I’m your lost Juliet
I wish you knew all of this
But I can’t tell you yet

Cause hey, babe, you’re my vicodin
Yeah, love, you’re my oxycontin
And, sweet, around you I can’t hide
Cause hey, dear, you’re my cyanide

They’ll need to make a new term for you
‘Cause ‘withdrawal’ just won’t cut it
Sweet, being around you is the biggest hit
And going without won't do

Cause hey, babe, you’re my vicodin
Yeah, love, you’re my oxycontin
And, sweet, around you I can’t hide
Cause hey, dear, you’re my cyanide

Your shining golden eyes might
Keep me up at night
You’re haunting all my dreams, sweet
And making sure that I can’t sleep

At each accidental brush
A fire races through me
I shudder and freeze and let it pass
Don’t you see what you do to me?

Cause hey, babe, you’re my vicodin
Yeah, love, you’re my oxycontin
And, sweet, around you I can’t hide
Cause hey, dear, you’re my cyanide

Darling, dearest, damned, feared
Please, just whisper it in my ear
And please let me know the big secret
Yes, please let me know how to quit

Don’t you want me to go?
Why won’t you let me know?
I’m so dependant on you
With me, what did you do?

Cause hey, babe, you’re my vicodin
Yeah, love, you’re my oxycontin
And, sweet, around you I can’t hide
Cause hey, dear, you’re my cyanide

Cause hey, babe, you’re my vicodin
Yeah, love, you’re my oxycontin
And, sweet, around you I can’t hide
Cause hey, dear, you’re my cyanide

Cause hey, babe, you’re my vicodin
Yeah, love, you’re my oxycontin
And, sweet, around you I can’t hide
Cause hey, dear, you’re my cyanide

My drug, my drug, my drug…my love.

Taking Chances

I thought you guys would probably be getting tired of "#2 pencil, Prismacolor and Crayola colored pencils," so I unraveled a painting I did last year based on Celine Dion's 'Taking Chances,' and since my scanner can't scan this either this is via camera- but it did okay on this one. A bit of explination, though- originally it was a random girl and guy, but as I was trying to contour the faces, I started subconciously looking at people I knew, so the girl ends up looking like me and the guy like a friend of mine. IT'S NOT ABOUT US! Just so you know.

Done with acrylic paint and you know, like...water.

Lyrics here, music video here. (The music video makes no sense, but well, she's French.)

Stay Awake

Finally up! I like this one quite a bit, but as my scanner doesn't like to scan just pencil-and-paper drawings, I had to take a picture of it in order to put in on here. I'm sorry if it's not as clear.

So this is based on the (new!) song by My Chemical Romance, Stay Awake. If you missed my shpeel about the song, it's right here. It's done with just #2 pencil, all credits to MCR!

"Stay Awake" and "Stay...right here...so I can tell you...someone out there loves you after all."

I Caught Fire

Okay, for this one I have a confession. I carry it around. I love it that much- and it's the first one that I really, really felt proud about. It's based on one of my favorite songs, I Caught Fire, by The Used. (Great band, too.) It's all about new love and the feelings that come with it. Done with a mix of Prismacolor and Crayola colored pencils.

"I'm melting/ In your eyes/ like my first time/ that I caught fire"

Lyrics here, music video here. (Also a great video)

Famous Last Words

Yes, another one by My Chemical Romance- they're my favorite band, so I have a lot based on their songs. This one is about holding on, and on the precipice of madness. Done with #2 lead pencil for outlines, Prismacolor and Crayola colored pencils for the color.

"Can you see/my eyes are shining bright/ Cause I'm out there/ On the other side/ Of a jet black hotel mirror/ And I'm so weak"

Lyrics here, music video here (seriously amazing video, check it out.)

The Q And The Grey

This one is based on an episode of Star Trek: Voyager called 'The Q And The Grey,' and it's quite possibly one of the best episodes. In it, Q is leading a revolution, and the quote on the page is what inspired it. Done with #2 lead pencils for the outline and Prismacolor colored pencils for the color.

"I sounded the horn and carried the banner. Naturally others followed."

(P.S.- Paramount owes every right to Star Trek, I'm just borrowing the characters for a while.)

This Is How I Dissapear

This one is based on a song by My Chemical Romance called This Is How I Dissapear. It's one of my older ones, but I really like the song. This was done with regular #2 lead pencil for the outlines, Crayola colored pencils for the color, and red Sharpie for the "paint."

If you want the lyrics to the song click here, and the song here.

Overture

This blog is for all of my art- photos, sketches, etc. Posted with references and inspirations. (Mostly song-based, but a few not.) Here, blunt, and without padding. Don't judge, don't assume, and please no flames.
